2013 Maserati Kubang

CARBARN  | 2013 Maserati Kubang | When Maserati first rolled out its Kubang concept named after a warm Javan windat the January 2003 Detroit Auto Show, it was very hot on the heels of the Porsche Cayenne. At that time, Maserati had planned to utilize the Audi Q7's platform along with its more road-oriented quattro all-wheel-drive system. The decision was surprising, at a time when luxury SUVs were selling like gangbusters. A senior Maserati executive as soon as 2003 told The Car Connection that it was "leaning" towards a production version of the Kubang.

Maserati had made a partnership with Audi and had been at work on a production version of the Kubang featuring an Audi quattro derived all-wheel drive system shortly after that first appearance. The original specs were pretty impressive: 0-62 mph in 5.5 seconds, top speed more than 160 mph.

Top notch engineering resources were lent from Jeep and its expertise with the blistering Grand Cherokee SRT8 while Maserati has said that all major components of the Kubang will be "unmistakably Maserati."See these pictures of the new Kubang, direct from the floor of the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, below, then see our preview of the Kubang for more information.

2011 Scion Sports FR

In 2011 New York International Auto shows, Scion introduces a new rear wheel drive FR-S 2011. It is Scion sports coupe concept car. On the other exhibition stand, Toyota and Subaru together in partnership introducing a rear-wheel-drive sports car. The 2011 Scion Sports FR-S car, stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, is the definition of an automobile rear-wheel-drive sport-style genuine and interesting. Scion sports car with balanced performance and outstanding handling and flexible utility that has a surprising miles per gallon.

Jack Hollis, Scion vice president said that Scion will be experimenting with some other new things. The 2011 Scion Car FR-S is powered by a 2.0-liter boxer engine front combined with rear-wheel drive system. This 2.0-liter boxer engine set low and then back to the car to provide a lower center of gravity and the ratio of front-to-back dynamic, thus providing advantages in weight. This is the first boxer engine that incorporates Toyota's D4-S injection system, which produces an additional injection of either directly or through a port. All it means that the 2011 Scion Sports Car FR-S will get increased horsepower and torque without having to deal with the loss of fuel efficiency. That is an added value when you are dealing on increasing driving speed.
