2012 Honda CR-V

CARBARN  | 2012 Honda CR-V | World debuts for new concept and production models typically happen at premier auto shows, like the North American International Auto Show, the Tokyo Motor Show or even the IAA (more commonly known as the Frankfurt Auto Show).

Honda isnt like most automakers, so it chose the Orange County International Auto Show for the world debut of its 2012 Honda CR-V Concept.  That makes the success of the fourth-generation Honda CR-V critical to Hondas sales in the United States, so Honda needed to walk a fine line between too many design changes and not enough changes. The styling of the concept would seem to indicate that Hondas designers hit their mark.

The 2012 Honda CR-V Concept is more dramatically styled than CR-Vs of the past, yet still tasteful in its design. Signature styling traits, like the faux front skid plat and vertical tail lights, remain, and the muscular rocker panels give the CR-V something of a sporty look. What other changes, compared to the current CRV, does Honda have in store?

2012 HONDA OSM

The OSM, or Open Study Model, is a two-seater roadster, like hybrid CR-Z sports shows for the first time at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show, designed to show that Honda can produce a car with low emissions yet is

lively and entertaining unit. As this is essentially a design concept, the mother may have about the Honda engine options, strange for a car that is promoted as environmentally friendly, we are not surprised to see the same CR-Z hybrid transmission.

In designing the OSM, which bowed at the British Motor Show, Honda aimed for a look that was clean and dynamic. Therefore, the similarities of the roadster shares a lot with the CR-Z, including a sweeping front end with narrow LED lights and an air inlet open. The back is rounded and bulbous with a giant flag of LED

taillights. In fact, the OSM looks like a convertible version of the CR-Z.
Sports touches abound inside, including a large red button on the Honda S2000. Many other interior parts seems to have come from the CR-Z as the speedometer and tachometer two-storey dual agreement,

indicators, steering wheel and funky. Steering wheel-mounted paddles also suggest the possibility of a sequential manual transmission.

The OSM was designed in the German design studio at Honda, and no plans for production. However, as Honda tries to ramp up hybrid sales in the coming years, we hope for the future of sports on offer, but, economically on the same line of the OSM.

2012 Honda CRF450R

The power on the CRF450R is not explosive, but smooth and easy to roll on. In stock form the motor may feel a little vanilla to power-hungry riders, as there isn't any single portion of the powerband that will knock

your socks off. That's not to say that the bike isn't fast-it has plenty of power for 99% of riders out there-but the smooth and easy-to-ride feel of the motor could be perceived as slow to those wanting more violence and hit. There is good off-idle snap and the acceleration is consistent, though we did feel that the bike was in-

between gears in spots on the track, which may have contributed to the relatively mellow character that some riders described. This wasn't a major issue as shifting on the Honda is once again buttery smooth, and the

clutch is as easy to operate as ever. In fact, all of the controls on the Honda are dialed in and smooth, and the ergonomics are familiar and comfortable. Leaning, switching lines, turning and whipping in the air all come naturally to this motorcycle. Braking is also excellent.

Without a doubt, Honda had a difficult task ahead of them when they set out to create a motocross 450 that would please everyone. From what we've seen so far we'd say that they did a pretty good job, as the performance potential of the motor and the smooth, consistent handling of the chassis combine to create a

package that everyone can enjoy. Even current AMA National legend Chad Reed hopped on our bike and came away with a huge grin on his face! We'll continue to test the CRF450R at a variety of tracks and will have a full first test out soon in the pages of Dirt Rider magazine. Stay tuned!

New Honda Civic 2012

Honda is overdue for a redesign of its ever-popular Civic, and the Civic concept cars unveiled in Detroit this year give us a good idea of what direction Honda is taking, and that seems to be pretty much the same as for the last generation. But what what I really want to know is if this new Civic will be greener than the one that it will replace. Read on for more details and photos.

While it's too early for the technical specifications and EPA MPG ratings, Honda says that the new Civic will be more fuel-efficient (which is a bare minimum these days) and get at least 40 MPG on the highway.

The hybrid version will still be stuck with the IMA "assist" drivetrain, but the batteries are being upgraded:
The upcoming Civic Hybrid offers the latest generation of the compact and lightweight Integrated Motor

Assist (IMA) gasoline-electric hybrid system and features the first application of a lithium-ion battery in a Honda hybrid.

Honda has also said that it is "expanding retail sales of the natural gas-powered Civic GX model, which is the only OEM-built, dedicated CNG passenger car assembled in America" from 4 states to nation-wide.

There are no new versions of cars that are expected to be launched in 2011. Same models of 2010 are the ones that are expected to be available in the first part of the year as new models are still expected to be

launched later on the year after 2012 Honda CR-Vs. These models are the 2007 versions. The main factors that are still making this car competent include its roominess, good resale value, easy handling, good cabin,

and unmatched record of reliability just like its name suggests- Comfortable Runabout Vehicle2011 Honda CR-Vs will be no different from the 2010 models released.  The color and the modifications that were done

on the nose and the rear will be retained.  Tail and nose were extended up to areas that were covered by a black paint. The interior design of the CR-Vs in 2010 had the lighting system\m improved. However, the lighting for the 2011 is yet to be seen as the Company has a policy of marking its last edition of a car generation with something remarkable.

2011 Honda CR-Z

Overview

The 2011 CR-Z Hybrid Honda in third place, joining the compact Civic Hybrid and Insight, the two seats five. Despite having only two seats, the small CR-Z has the lowest mileage of the three gases. The penetration of the first generation, sold from 2000-06, is a utility for two, but the CR-Z is intended to be sportier, both in appearance and driving experience.

Two levels of output are the basis for the CR-Z and feature-loaded to the CR-Z EX.

Exterior

The CR-Z is reasonably faithful to the concept car of the same name that hit the auto show circuit in 2007, but less dramatic curves. Inspired by the two-seat CRX sold in 1990 and '91, the spirit of the CR-Z and shares the design model of the division of the rear window, which remains controversial in terms of style and driver visibility in the Insight and Toyota Prius.

A 160 cm long, the CR-Z a few inches longer than a Mazda MX-5 Miata and expanded version of the Mini Cooper, the Clubman, and it is almost exactly between the sedan and hatchback versions of the Toyota Yaris subcompact.

Interior

The decor is busy, but efficient design reminds Insight, a driver-oriented cockpit-style controls and displays. Even the ventilation controls are in pods near the driver, there is no traditional control panel, center stack, which defines the optional navigation system in the center. Cloth seats are spacious, and the steering wheel tilts and telescopes as well.

Standard features include, but are not limited to, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, automatic climate control, single zone, cruise control and a CD stereo with USB audio interface. The adjustment EX adds xenon headlights, fog lights, stereo top quality with subwoofer, Bluetooth connectivity, leather steering wheel and a center storage console. The navigation is optional only on the EX.

Storage boxes behind the seats separated from the bulkhead of the boot, which can be folded forward to expand cargo door on the floor - similar to fold the seat back. Armrest is available.

Under the hood

Like other hybrid Honda CR-Z uses a relatively simple system that puts an electric motor in combination with a gas engine, in this case a 1.5-liter four-cylinder. Although the engine off when the vehicle is stopped, is always running when the vehicle is in motion. The engine and engine combine to produce 122 horsepower, 24 horsepower more than the Insight is.

Front-wheel drive CR-Z hybrid is now alone in the year to offer a manual and automatic transmission of a file. The six-speed stick is standard, a continuously variable automatic transmission is optional and includes steering wheel shift paddles step manual transmission feel. The manual transmission provides lower mileage, but at 33 mpg city / highway driving. The CVT transmission has an EPA estimated 37 mpg.

To meet the needs of the driver, CR-Z modes Sport, Normal and Econ. Econ maximizes fuel economy, while the sport is more responsive acceleration and reduces the power steering for a sportier feel.

Safety

With air bags are front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtains. Also standard are active head restraints, antilock four-wheel disc brakes and an electronic stability system with traction control.
