2011 Chrysler 300

CARBARN | 2011 Chrysler 300 | This car is a car that issued the very latest, have previously been issued a variant of the same, but in 2011 it issued a more recent variant, everything was new, from the form, facilities, machinery and others, want to know? following report

You might have noticed that its no longer badged as 300C, but if look deeper you notice that the new LED daytime running lights are arranged in the shape of a C in Chryslers honor. How about that! We also quite like the new Chrysler signature grille which has more character than the dull grille of the old 300C. But we dont dig those chrome bits underneath the headlights, theyre really unnecessary.

Although theres no image of the cabin available yet, but thats too has been totally revamped, just like other new models from Chrysler and now offers a much better design and quality compared to the old model. It also gets some nice traditional touches like wooden trims and analogue clock.

One other great feature of the new 300 is the new-look 20-inch wheels which were totally necessary for this massive thing. They could have ruined it if they were to use smaller rims. Chrysler has also tweaked the suspension for more ride comfort and also used more acoustic insulation materials for a quieter cabin.

As for the engines, sure you get the firms Pentastar 3.6L V6 with 292-hp and 260-lb-ft pf torque, along with the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 churning out 360-hp and390-lb-ft of torque which is a bit outdated to be honest, being an OHV and all. Plus if you give 5.7 liters to European they will come up with at least twice the power of this unit.

Chrysler Crossfire

CARBARN | Chrysler Crossfire | the car was marketed in 2008, a car that has luxury facilities and also very sporty indeed rare to find, because perhaps some people throughout the whereabouts of the car yet this year, well here we report information about this car. Low-slung with a sculpted appearance, the Chrysler Crossfire features distinctive lines and dynamic proportions. The Crossfires rear view is instantly recognizable with a tapered, boat tail appearance that emphasizes the sports cars 19-inch rear wheels. Both Coupe and Roadster versions feature a retractable spoiler designed into the rear of the vehicle that activates when the car reaches 60 mph. The center high-mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) runs the width of the deployable rear spoiler on the Roadster.

To achieve an even more dynamic appearance on the Crossfire Roadster, satin silver painted sport bars appear just behind the driver and passenger seats. They ride in two race-inspired fairings integrated into the top of the tonneau cover, which complete the Roadsters rakish look. A long hood and fast back give the Chrysler Crossfire a dynamic side view. The cars broad shoulders envelop 19-inch rear wheels, while the front wheels measure 18 inches. The larger rear wheels give the side profile a poised stance. The Chrysler Crossfire sports a distinctive side view character line that moves precisely and rapidly from front to rear. The character line crosses to a negative formation as it travels from the front through the rear fender, giving credence to the name Crossfire. A central spine runs from the bottom of the front fascia through the grille, hood and into the rear deck and fascia.

Inside the Crossfires twin cockpit interior, this same center spine shape bisects the center console, shifter and instrument panel. From the drivers seat, the center spine shape appears to continue from the instrument panel through the windshield and onto the hood, inspiring similar design cues in other Chrysler brand vehicles. The Crossfire Limiteds seats are trimmed in leather with Chryslers signature winged badge embossed into both head restraints. The ignition switch is located on the instrument panel, as opposed to the steering column, while the cars precise, white-on-black gauges feature black bezels and satin silver trim rings. The center console has a metallic finish that flows from the top of the instrument panel through the center of the car to achieve a twin cockpit look. Satin silver accents are featured throughout the interior, including the doors, steering wheel and instrument cluster.

The 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe, measured dynamically, has a body structure that is twice as stiff as a Porsche Boxster and as stiff as a Porsche 911. This technical achievement allows Crossfire Coupe to demonstrate its sedan-like ride while maintaining true sports car handling characteristics. The 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster was developed in parallel with the Coupe from its inception, which enhanced the Roadsters structural rigidity. Chrysler Crossfire Roadster customers enjoy a tight, solid and quiet ride thanks to the cars exceptional body torsional stiffness of 29.2 Hz. Chrysler Crossfire Roadster offers more torque (229 lb.-ft.) than Porsche Boxster (192 lb.-ft.) and BMW Z4 (214 lb.-ft.).

Under the hood, a 3.2-liter, 90-degree, 18-valve, single-overhead-cam V-6 engine delivers 215 horsepower (160 kW) and 229 lb.-ft. (310 Nm) of torque at 3,000 rpm to both Coupe and Roadster drivers. The Chrysler Crossfire is equipped with a standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which is designed to help drivers maintain control during extreme steering maneuvers and low traction conditions. The Crossfires ESP senses when the car is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer) and attempts to correct the vehicles course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels. This provides directional stability in turns, even on uneven surfaces.

All-speed traction control also is standard on all Chrysler Crossfire models. This feature senses drive-wheel slip and individually brakes the slipping wheel and/or reduces excess engine power until control is regained. This enhances the Crossfires mobility and prevents wheel slip when accelerating on slippery surfaces. It also provides a measure of directional stability control and helps keep the car on its intended course. The Crossfire Coupe and Roadsters standard four-wheel, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Brake Assist keep the cars straight and retain steering capability while braking on slippery surfaces by preventing wheel lockup.

Chrysler Prowler

CARBARN | Chrysler Prowler | This car has an extremely unique form, namely forms of old cars or old-fashioned, but from that facility is very modern car, features a modern car at the moment, these cars are usually bought by lovers of classic cars, want to know? The following report

When you say Chrysler and retro design, only one car comes to mind: the Chrysler Prowler. Yes, that open, Indy-racer-inspired front wheels on the Prowler are unmistakable. Chrysler engineers came up with an interesting design for the Prowler when they were given the green light to do whatever they wanted in a sportster or hot rod car. And the outcome was, of course, the Chrysler Prowler.

Manufactured in 1997 and from 1999 to 2002, the Prowler has more than just a striking retro design. On the outside, it has an aluminum body and strongly bonded components. Under the hood lies a 3.5-liter SOHC V6 engine that generates 214 horsepower. In 1999, a more powerful 253-horsepower engine replaced the original one. Both engines have four-speed automatic transmission found at the rear area of the car. A flexible driveshaft, which spins at engine speed, connects the transmission to the engine. This design allows for a good weight distribution in the car.

April 20, 2011 , New York - The success of the modern Chrysler 300 launched in 2005 can be attributed to its broad appeal. People of all ages, incomes, and lifestyles were attracted to the sedans dramatic styling, power and performance. The 2011 model year brought the introduction of the all-new Chrysler 300, 300 Limited and 300C. For 2012, the Chrysler brand is expanding the appeal of its flagship 300 sedan even further by launching three all-new models, all with unmistakably bold American style, luxury and performance targeted at different owner lifestyles.

As the king of the lineup, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 adds high-performance hardware to the elegant proportions and head turning design of the 2011 Chrysler 300C to provide the ultimate combination of world-class luxury, power and handling. With an estimated 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, the 300 SRT8 is targeted at customers that seek heart pounding, adrenaline filled excitement, but dont want to sacrifice comfort and innovative features to get it.

Appealing to younger, more urban-centric customers that want world-class sophistication combined with athletic-luxury and a more aggressive look, the all-new 2012 Chrysler 300S delivers. This 300 street machine features 20-inch aluminum wheels with black painted pockets, sport-tuned suspension, premium audio, black exterior accents and a monotone black or exclusive black with Radar Red interior environment.

Designed to be the most luxurious Chrysler sedan ever, the all-new 2012 Chrysler 300C Executive Series with an ultra-premium leather wrapped cockpit, will appeal to customers looking to reward their hard work with a true American luxury vehicle that rivals the best the imports can offer.

Were bringing three new and distinct models to our 300 lineup in 2012 with the 300 SRT8, 300S Series and 300C Executive Series, each designed with specific consumer lifestyles in mind, said Olivier Francois, President and CEO Chrysler Brand and Lead Executive for Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC. More than an icon of simple American motoring, the Chrysler 300 is an icon of attainable style and performance. For those customers who live for the sport of being first, the all-new Chrysler 300 SRT8 is the no compromises king of the hill, featuring the ultimate combination of world-class luxury and performance in our most powerful, best-handling sedan ever.

2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8

The Street and Racing Technology (SRT) performance engineering team builds upon the all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan already executed for a world-class luxury experience, to deliver Chryslers most powerful and best handling model ever.

Projected performance numbers include 0-60 mph acceleration in the high 4-second range; quarter mile in high 12 second range; 0-100-0 mph in less than 16 seconds, top speed of 175 mph and stopping power from 60-0 mph in 120 feet.

Owners of any Chrysler Group SRT vehicle receive one day of professional driving instruction from the Richard Petty Racing School as part of the SRT Track Experience, designed to maximize their driving knowledge and skills on the street or track. Sessions are held throughout the year at selected tracks.

The return of the 300 SRT8 to the Chrysler lineup in 2012 evokes a strong comparison to the original high-performance production car of its time the 1955 Chrysler 300. Known for simple, strong lines, excellent engineering, high levels of luxury and outstanding performance with the first modern American V-8 engine to produce 300 horsepower, the first Chrysler 300 (C-300) was styled by Virgil Exner, who radically redesigned the entire Chrysler line and created what they called "The Forward Look" in 1955. Without much chrome on the sides, his designs were simple, but strong. Exner is credited with creating the illusion of fast, forward movement.

The Chrysler C-300 won on both the road course and the flying mile at Daytona in 1955. In 1956, the Chrysler 300B model won both events again. In fact, the Chrysler 300s dominated NASCAR competition in 1955 and 1956, taking the overall championship in both years. A legendary and luxurious performance car was born. The letter cars quickly became the most desirable of the Chrysler lineup and became known as the Beautiful Brutes.

Awe-inspiring powertrain

Under the hood of the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, the new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 makes its debut in the Chrysler brand product lineup delivering an estimated 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, up 40 horsepower and 45 lb.-ft. over the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 it replaces.

The improved torque output - including an additional 80 lb.-ft. at 2,900 rpm - allows for inspired standing starts and improved straight-line performance while new, performance-tuned motor mounts improve idle stability and ride control at any speed. An active intake manifold and high-lift camshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque while optimizing high-end power.

Even with the elevated power numbers, an estimated 25-percent fuel economy increase on the highway is achieved by use of a new for 2012 active valve exhaust system that allows the standard Fuel Saver technology (four-cylinder mode) to engage over a wider rpm range. The new active exhaust system also allows for straight-through mid and rear mufflers for a throaty exhaust note under engine load.

Specific fuel economy numbers will be announced closer to the vehicle introduction.

Standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters join the standard Auto Stick on the floor console. Both are mated to the proven five-speed automatic transmission, allowing a choice of spirited shifting on the road and the race track.

Both methods give the driver the ability to manually shift the transmission. The transmission controller calibration in Auto mode prevents situations that might over rev the engine; while in Sport mode, it allows the driver full control of the shifting schedule. Fully adaptive electronic control of all shifting makes the powertrain more responsive while minimizing harshness.

Outstanding ride and handling

New for 2012 is an Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS) system that is tuned specifically for the Chrysler 300 SRT8 to offer a compliant and comfortable ride. The ADS system also uses a wide range of on-road and driver inputs - such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position and lateral and vertical accelerations - to automatically tune the suspension for specific conditions when necessary.

In addition, drivers can manually choose between Auto and Sport settings that quickly change the shock damping and harshness characteristics from everyday commuting to more spirited driving situations.

The performance SRT-tuned, fully-hydraulic steering system also has been improved with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response.

New seven-spoke, 20-inch lightweight forged aluminum wheels and available three- or four-season tires provide great looks with fun-to-drive performance and handling.

Outstanding braking

SRT vehicles are well known for their world-class stopping power and the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 features 14.2 inch (front) and 13.8 inch (rear) vented/slotted rotors with four-piston Brembo calipers painted in silver finish. Improved brake cooling and fade performance comes courtesy of new underbody belly pan with integrated brake ducting.

The standard Ready Alert Braking system anticipates situations when the driver may initiate an emergency brake stop and engages the electronic stability control pump to set brake pads against rotors in order to decrease the time required for full brake application.

Aggressive and functional exterior with available Black Chrome Package

An exclusive new front fascia has a modern, yet timeless appearance that is carried through with the all-new grille and new Chrysler wing badge. The black chrome upper and lower grille surrounds and rear valance strip are part of the available Black Chrome Package.

The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is one-half inch lower when compared to the base car and features new SRT-exclusive side sill cladding painted in matching body color for the planted look of a true sports sedan.

The rear includes a unique lower fascia with chrome accent bar, new 4-inch round dual exhaust tips and a modified SRT8 decklid badge with new black accent. Rounding out the Black Chrome Package are the black chrome accent spear and exclusive black chrome wheels.

Race inspired and functional interior

The all-new interior environment combines world-class luxury accommodations with performance-oriented technology and appointments.

An all-new leather-wrapped, heated, SRT-exclusive steering wheel features a unique rim section with a flattened bottom surface showing the SRT logo. Standard paddle shift controls flank both sides of the new contoured palm rests while all audio and Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) controls are accessible from the horizontal spokes on the steering wheel.

For the high-performance look, real carbon fiber interior trim pieces are integrated into the new instrument panel, door spears and shifter bezel and new racing style brake and gas pedal pads are standard.

The new full-color graphic EVIC with exclusive Performance Pages includes timers for 0-60 mph, one-eighth mile and quarter-mile times, 60-0 braking distance, along with lateral and longitudinal g-forces within the touchscreen display.

The new instrument panels 8.4-inch color touchscreen display the segments largest standard display also has all the same Performance Pages data as the EVIC, and is further expanded to include steering angle, horsepower, and torque outputs along with engine gauges. The display is customizable to a driver selectable background.

An available Premium Leather Interior Package offers Poltrona Frau Foligno leather wrapped upper door trim panels, instrument panel, cluster brow and center console side panels. Nappa leather covers the door bolster, armrest and center console armrest.

The standard heated and ventilated front seats have active head rests with the SRT logo embroidered in seat backs. Rear seats also are heated for passenger comfort.

Modified door trim panels feature unique bolster material and accent stitching on arm rests to match the seats.

Safety and security

2011 Chrysler 300 in black color

The replacement for the most acclaimed American car of the decade, the 2011 Chrysler 300 hits the road with crisp styling, advanced features and a more luxurious interior.

The 300's big grille features horizontal bars that look like stylized aircraft wings. Chrysler calls the grille's rich finish "liquid chrome." Fender flares appear to rise above the hoodline and trunk. Keyhole-shaped headlights feature LED running lights.

The 300 will come with either Chrysler's new 292-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 or a 363-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Both engines mate with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The optional all-wheel drive system disconnects the front axle from the driveline when rear-drive provides sufficient traction. Chrysler says the system will improve fuel economy 5% over competitive AWD systems.

Other new features include a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen for the radio and other systems, blind-spot and cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and a capless fuel filler.

Review: 2011 Chrysler 300 V6

http://www.sportscarsfans.com/images/script/image.php?id=906D_4DDB8FD6

Of the many hurtful similes one can hurl at a vehicle, few are more insidious than drawing design or driving parallels to the oft-maligned American sedan. Thanks to the dark days of the 70s and 80s, once proud nameplates like Imperial, Impala and Galaxie were either completely forgotten or bastardized into models with about as much personality as a tube sock. Whether you blame it on oil prices, safety standards or the popularity of disco and cocaine, theres no denying that the domestic four-door suffered a major fall from grace.

Now, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are all fighting tooth and nail to establish their products as capable of besting metal from Japan, Germany and Korea. While thats largely translated into a fleet of mid-sized sedans with soap-bar aesthetics and front-wheel-drive architectures, the 2011 Chrysler 300 is hell-bent on continuing to buck that trend.

With its rear-wheel-drive configuration and stylish lines, the four-door strives to draw connections to the Pentastars more successful past to an era long before corporate take-overs and the K-car. Is it successful?

When the 300 first bowed in 2005, it brought a new-found element of menacing appeal to the full-size segment thanks to its high shoulder line, chopped roof and vertical grille. The design may have borrowed more than a few cues from the Bentley stable, but buyers were more than happy to embrace the high-dollar association. For 2011, Chrysler insists the 300 is all-new from tires to taillights, though much of that same look has held on for the new generation. The companys designers have given the big beast a more mature nose with LED-trimmed projection headlamps, touches of chrome and a more subdued grille.

From the profile view, its difficult to discern the new-generation 300 from its predecessor, though careful examination will reveal more pronounced fender arches fore and aft, as well as new detailing behind the rear wheel. The tail of the sedan has received much more aggressive updating, with a new valance that integrates smoothly into the upper and lower portions of the 300s posterior, allowing for muscular-looking exhaust outlets even on our V6 tester. The LED taillights are both bright and beautiful at night, and although we dont mind the chrome detailing on the lamps themselves, the shiny trim along the trunk sill is a bit much.

While the 2011 Chrysler 300 may still wear its older siblings hand-me-down skirt outside, its cockpit has benefited fully from the Pentastars interior renaissance. A single piece, soft-touch dash stretches between both A-pillars and integrates flawlessly with the front door panels. Compared to the clunky center stack and cheap plastics of the old machine, the new cabin has been improved by several orders of magnitude. The centerpiece of the dash is the same 8.4-inch LCD touchscreen interface found elsewhere in the Chrysler lineup. As massive as it is quick, the new piece of kit puts most other infotainment systems to shame, at least in the graphics department.

The interface is a little cumbersome when it comes to actually managing mobile media players, but climate, radio and navigation settings are intuitive and blisteringly quick.

In addition, the driver is treated to attractive and easy-to-read gauges highlighted by bright blue accent lighting. These pieces do much to give the cabin a much classier look compared to the white-faced gauges found on the previous generation. A new, well-sculpted leather-wrapped steering wheel has has replaced the chunky tiller of old.

Our tester arrived with black cloth seats that must have been lifted straight from the Lay-Z-Boy factory. The front buckets are ludicrously huge and envelop passengers in a loving embrace of foam and high-quality cloth thats perfect for a vehicle of this size. The rear seats afford the kind of space that only a full-size sedan can deliver, too. For quick trips, theres ample room for three full-grown adults on the back bench.

The trunk offers up a cavernous 16.3 cubic feet of cargo room, which means that theres enough storage area for everyones luggage should you decide to pack the family in for a trip cross-country.

We were fortunate enough to sample the 2011 Chrysler 300 with the base 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 behind its headlights. In this application, the engine delivers 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and is mated to the same old five-speed automatic transmission found in the previous-generation model. According to the EPA, the 300 should see 18 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg highway, which fits pretty closely with the 23 mpg we saw over five days of mixed driving.

Despite the fact that the new six-cylinder weighs in with 70 fewer ponies and 134 fewer pound-feet of torque than the optional 5.7-liter V8, the V6-equipped 300 never really seems out of breath. In fact, the V6 feels pretty quick on the way to 60 miles per hour, though its torque deficit is readily apparent. As weve found in other applications, this Pentastar engine is happy to rev, making the majority of its power at a high 6,350 rpm. For buyers used to the early-pull of the big V8, the V6 may take some getting used to. Even so, after a week with the vehicle, wed have a hard time paying more for the bigger displacement mill.

Unfortunately, the 3.6-liter engine is handicapped by its aging five-speed automatic transmission. Weve rarely taken issue with the gearbox when paired with the larger 5.7-liter V8, but in this application, the automatic seemed easily confused. That was especially true under hard-acceleration passes as it struggled to drop a gear or two to put the engine in its lofty power sweet spot. We cant wait for Chrysler to grace this engine with its upcoming new generation of eight-speed transmissions.

2011 Chrysler 300 engine

Chrysler describes the redesigned suspension at work in the 300 as built for grand touring duty, which is surprisingly accurate for PR-speak. While clearly engineered to consume mile after mile of interstate asphalt, the springs and dampers do a stand-up job under more athletic driving circumstances. There is some body roll, to be sure, but it doesnt translate into traditional understeer as readily. Really get the V6 singing in its upper octaves and saw on the wheel, and youll actually be rewarded with some rotation before the traction control quietly steps in to contain the chaos. This beast drives incredibly well for its size.

Unfortunately, the 2011 300 is cursed with comically light steering. That beautiful leather-wrapped wheel seems to be only casually associated with hardworking hardware out front, and as a result, piloting the vehicle takes some adjustment. Trying to command the big sedan through aggressive maneuvers is like attempting to pluck a stuffed animal from one of those infuriating claw games. Despite being able to see what needs to happen, youre constantly flummoxed by a layer of machinery seemingly designed to misinterpret your every input.

2011 Chrysler 300 steering wheel2011 Chrysler 300 gauges

The good news is that the vehicles brakes dont suffer from the same impotence. Despite the fact that the 300 weighs in at 3,961 pounds, its 12.6-inch vented rotors up front and 12.6-inch solid rotors out back do an outstanding job of bringing the beast down from speed.

Chrysler has really done its homework in the noise, vibration and harshness department, too. The 2011 300 is quiet at most sane speeds and theres very little engine vibration at idle. The single-piece piece dash has done away with any squeaks and rattles that could arise from plastic-on-plastic action, and the result is a cabin that could allow eight hours of driving in a day to be comfortably covered without making you want to guillotine yourself with the auto-up drivers window.

But there are still a few ghosts of Chrysler past bumping around the big sedan. While the interior fit and finish is top notch, its apparent that the company could still use some work in the detail department outside. Our tester wore an excess of structural adhesive along the trunk rail (see it here) that looks to have been haphazardly slathered on. To us, its the kind of good enough thinking that got Chrysler into its most recent Chapter 11 mess.

2011 Chrysler 300 rear 3/4 view

At the end of the day, the 2011 Chrysler 300 is a vehicle you cant help but want to drive. It looks as good as it feels, offers decent fuel economy for a full-size and wont break the bank. Prices get going at $27,170, not including the $825 destination fee. That figure is fairly close to what our tester commanded, and includes niceties like the big LCD screen and Uconnect telematics system.

Unfortunately, nearly $28,000 is a lot of money to pay for a thirsty sedan these days. As vehicles like the Honda Accord and Volkswagen Passat grow to full-size territory, buyers may be less inclined to shop bigger. Thats especially true as fuel prices continue to creep up. While the ballyhooed eight-speed automatic transmission thats coming to Chrysler will likely increase the Pentastars fuel economy, the engine will never be able to effectively lock horns with the four-cylinder, diesel and hybrid options available in the mid-size segment.

Still, as with most of the vehicles crafted from the Chrysler renaissance, the 2011 300 is yet another big step in the right direction. It ought to be a giant leap when we can finally get our hands on the SRT8 version.

2011 Chrysler 200 is based on the third-gen Sebring

Side Pic of 2011 Chrysler 200

Chrysler has unveiled its new mid-sized challenger to rival the Camry, Accord and Chevy Malibu. Named 200, this younger brother to the 300 kills off the Sebring nameplate and will go on sale as a 2011 model. Fiat now owns Chrysler, but the Sterling Heights, Michigan built 200 isnt a reskinned Italian car.

Described as a car that appeals to "customers that want style and substance, all at a surprising value", the 200 is based on the third-gen Sebring, which made its debut in 2007, but with heavily revised styling that makes it appear much more handsome than before.

New bits include front and rear fascias and fenders, grille featuring the new Chrysler winged badge, hood, rear decklid and exterior mirrors, new projector headlamps and fog lamps, new LED taillamps and a LED centre high-mounted stop light. The rear end clearly apes the Jaguar XF.

The 200 will be powered by the 2.4-litre four-pot "World Engine" mated to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic gearbox. The V6 option is filled by the companys 3.6-litre Pentastar engine mated to a six-speed auto.

Chrysler says that ride and handling has been improved thanks to stiffened body mounts and a softer ride rate, improved suspension geometry with a raised roll centre and a new rear sway bar. NVH has been "extensively upgraded" from the old car as well.

2009 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

2009 Chrysler Sebring Convertible
The 2009 Chrysler Sebring Convertible offers two convertible top options: cloth and a body-color painted steel retractable hard top, both of which retract with the push of a button on the key fob. With a standard power hard tonneau cover on all models, top up or down, the Chrysler Sebring Convertible provides the benefits of a coupe and the true open-air freedom of a convertible at an affordable price.

Three engine options power the 2009 Chrysler Sebring Convertibles sold in the United States: the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder World Engine, an available Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) 2.7-liter V-6 engine and an available 3.5-liter V-6 engine coupled with a new six-speed automatic transaxle featuring Auto Stick. The available 2.7-liter V-6 Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) engine produces 186 horsepower (139 kW) and 191 lb.-ft. 260 (Nm) of torque. This 2.7-liter V-6 engine achieves 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. It also operates effectively on any blend of gasoline and fuel-grade ethanol up to E85. Chrysler Sebring Convertible Limited models sold in the United States feature a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 235 horsepower (175 kW) and 232 lb.-ft. (232 Nm) of torque coupled with a six-speed automatic transaxle that comes standard with Auto Stick. The 3.5-liter V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transaxle deliver excellent performance and fuel efficiency, as well as smooth quiet operation. The Sebring Convertible's 3.5-liter V-6 engine achieves 16 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

The Chrysler Sebring Convertible has a rigid body structure to provide a quiet, comfortable ride and help eliminate cowl shake, even when the top is down. The front-wheel-drive architecture and the three-box vehicle design contribute to a body that is 2.5 times stiffer in twist and 1.5 times stiffer in bending than the previous-generation Chrysler Sebring Convertible. These refinements make the Chrysler Sebring Convertible structure stiffer than other convertibles on the market that cost thousands of dollars more.
